Fernand Lessard was born in 1924. He as the Junior Championship of the Université de Montréal at in 1941. He won the Taschereau at Mont-Tremblant in 1942. He won the double Slalom and the downhill at Saint-Sauveur in1944. He was nicknamed the “Flying Frenchman” at the Giant Slalom of Mont Gabriel, at the Downhill Red Bird in Saint-Sauveur and at Double Slalom in Ste-Adèle, Hill 80 in 1945. He won the Championship of Mont Baldy, Ste-Marguerite, the Championship of Mont Mansfield, U.S.A. and the Championship Laurentian Zone in 1946. At last, he was the alternate Olympic Ski Team in 1948.
